Cockroaches
Australia is home to a variety of different cockroaches with just over 400 species, including the American, German and Oriental cockroach. With cockroaches feeding off a large variety of food and even rotting garbage, they are attracted to homes. Once they enter a home, they have the potential to spread nasty diseases to humans including gastroenteritis and salmonella, as well as allergies.
Most cockroach species live for 3 – 12 months and take only 6 weeks to reach adulthood. Depending on the species, each female can lay 12 – 50 egg cases each containing between 16 – 40 eggs. That’s an average of 1116 cockroaches….Yuck right.
